Reliance Jio, one of India’s leading telecom companies, has recently introduced its latest 4G phone called ‘Jio Bharat V2’ in the country. This feature-packed smartphone comes at an affordable price of Rs 999, aiming to attract the attention of approximately 250 million 2G customers currently using rival networks like Airtel and Vodafone-Idea. Being an exclusively 4G and 5G network operator, Jio plans to expand its customer base by more than 100 million with the introduction of the new ‘Jio Bharat V2’ phone.
According to Jio, the ‘Jio Bharat V2’ phone holds the distinction of being the most budget-friendly internet-enabled phone available in the market. Building upon the success of its earlier release, the Jio Phone in 2018, the company has high expectations for the ‘Jio Bharat V2’ as well. Weighing a mere 71 grams, this lightweight device offers a range of impressive features including HD voice calling, FM radio, and support for a 128 GB SD memory card. It boasts a 4.5 cm TFT display, a 0.3-megapixel camera, a 1000mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, loudspeaker functionality, and even a torch.
In addition to the hardware specifications, Jio customers purchasing the ‘Jio Bharat V2’ phone will also gain access to popular Jio applications like Jio Cinema and Jio-Saavn. Furthermore, this mobile device supports a total of 22 Indian languages, catering to a diverse user base across the country. Jio has gone a step further in providing affordability to its customers by introducing a specially designed recharge plan priced at Rs 999 for ‘Jio Bharat V2’ users. This plan offers a validity of 28 days and provides 14GB of high-speed 4G data.
For customers seeking a longer-term commitment, Jio has also introduced an annual plan exclusively for ‘Jio Bharat V2’ users, priced at Rs 1234. This plan ensures seamless connectivity and benefits for a full year.
Jio has announced that the beta trial for the ‘Jio Bharat V2’ phone will commence on July 7. As part of its extensive outreach strategy, the company plans to make the phone available in 6,500 tehsils across the country, ensuring accessibility to customers in both urban and rural areas. With its affordable pricing, lightweight design, and impressive features, Jio aims to revolutionize the mobile market in India and provide millions of customers with an enhanced digital experience.
