- In 2005 Ryan began his football career by joining the Southampton Academy and became a successful captain of the under-18 youth team as well as the reserve team. Then in 2009, he moved to the Conference Premier team Salisbury City and played five league games and one FA Cup fixture while on 10 October 2009 he played his professional debut match against York City.In 2011 he returned to his home club Southampton Academy for three months and played three times in the FA Trophy. After that he played for the Concord Rangers and Cambridge City for a short time.
- From 2012 to 2016 he played for Mansfield Town and scored a total eight goals while on 8 March 2014 he scored his debut goal for the club against Newport country. At the beginning of 2013-2014 season he changed his T-shirt number from 32 to 12. After that he started suffering from a hamstring from 2014 October to 2015 January. After a long break he returned to the team and played against the Wycombe Wanderers, the result of the match was a draw of 0-0.
