Saichand, a prominent folk singer, a vocal advocate for a separate Telangana State, and Chairman of the Telangana Warehousing Corporation, tragically passed away on the morning of Thursday, June 29, 2023, due to a cardiac arrest. He was 39 years old. Saichand was immediately taken to Care Hospital, but unfortunately, the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
According to sources, Saichand, accompanied by his family, had spent the previous day at his farmhouse in Karukonda, Nagarkurnool district. Late in the night, he began experiencing chest pain and was initially taken to a hospital in Nagarkurnool before being transferred to Care Hospital in Hyderabad, where his unfortunate demise was confirmed.
Expressing deep shock over Saichand’s untimely passing, Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekhar Rao conveyed his condolences and highlighted the painful nature of losing someone who had immense potential for further growth. The Chief Minister emphasized that Saichand’s role in the Telangana cultural movement would forever be remembered.
Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao fondly recalled Saichand’s contribution through his songs during the cultural movement, emphasizing that his public gatherings would not commence without the inclusion of Saichand’s cultural performances. The Chief Minister further acknowledged Saichand’s active involvement as a singer since the early days of the Telangana movement, noting that his loss is irreparable, as he ignited the spirit of the Telangana movement in previous years and promoted awareness of development through his songs.
Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao extended his prayers for the bereaved family, hoping they find the strength to bear this great tragedy. He assured the family of all necessary support and conveyed his deepest condolences.

Santosh Kumar, Lok Sabha member Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, and various other individuals, including Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Finance and Health Minister T. Harish Rao, Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, expressed their condolences for Saichand’s untimely demise, recalling his significant role in the movement.
